In 2020 we teamed up with Surfshark on a YouTube marketing campaign, to promote their VPN service. Surfshark is an exclusive VPN service that is a subsidiary of Nord Security, based in the Netherlands. Surfshark is a private virtual network service that allows users to connect to sites internationally, as well as a private search function and data protection.

As an industry leading influencer marketing agency with an expert knowledge of both male audiences and YouTube marketing, we were brought in as key media partners to run their YouTube marketing campaign. The target audience of which was males aged 18+ across the English-speaking market, while the remainder of the campaign spend was split across Australian and European creators. Furthermore, the campaign centred on driving installs and service use, as well as ascertaining a positive ROI.

Based on our internal database, experience and in-depth discussions with the client we formulated a strategy for the YouTube marketing campaign. We began by showcasing previous similar influencer marketing campaigns within the Technology industry we had run within the YouTube domain, using a data-driven approach to advise the client on what we believe would drive the highest conversion rate and ROI.

After we had a clear data-led strategy constructed, we then formulated a spreadsheet for the client, consisting of talent with a predominantly male audience aged 18 and above within the US market. With a clear demographic understanding, we began to move onto another fundamental aspect to the campaign, which consisted of methodically analysing different content verticals of talent within this demographic. Based upon our specialist and in-depth analysis we focused our talent search on gaming, reactions and entertainment verticals.

From this, we produced a fully tracked YouTube campaign that produced a positive ROI, successfully drove install’s and became an effective source for user acquisition.
