Driving User Acquisition with Simulcast Podcast & YouTube ads

While RAID has extensively explored influencer marketing through traditional channels, they were yet to tap into a key emerging channel that consolidated the strengths of both YouTube, and Podcasts – Simulcasts, or video podcasts.

With YouTube now the majority preferred platform for most Podcast consumers, and more Podcasts increasingly adding visual elements to their shows, Simulcasts are a great opportunity to leverage the best of both worlds.

Podcasts have an abundance of niche verticals and highly engaged audiences, as well as the hosts being viewed as more trustworthy. Ads on this platform also see higher receptivity.

On the other hand, YouTube’s visual component allows key visuals to be displayed, which often play a key role in purchase intentions, particularly for games. Additionally, it allows integration of elements like QR codes to cater to different audience viewing behaviours, like consumption on CTV devices.

Since RAID is a game whose visuals are a key selling point and contributor to the superior gaming experience, Simulcasts presented a great opportunity to promote the game to niche audiences through effective and high-authority influencers.

Using our unique data analytics tools and simulcast podcast databases, we were able to create an effective and scalable simulcast advertising plan, curating a selection of podcast shows with engaged listener and viewership in RAID’s target segments, with 9 integrations delivered across 6 verticals.

The Simulcast format leveraging ad activation across audio-only and YouTube platforms allowed us to reach much wider audience sub-segments with different content consumption behaviours whilst integrating more touchpoints that encouraged tracked conversions – including audio pixels, QR codes, and links in bio. This data-led approach ultimately helped drive new user acquisition and awareness through a unique, scalable format.
